What exactly is EWPATAS designed to do?
The most basic use is as a complete set of components to manage tracking of lab time. It is initially being designed to control electronic records for a community college district. This includes recording time (for example, time spent in a lab), analyzing the data for accuracy, and submission into SQL databases.
Who is developing EWPATAS?
EWPATAS is sponsored by the North Orange County Community College District (NOCCCD), involving District Information Services, Fullerton College Academic Computing Technologies, Cypress College Academic Computing, and the School of Continuing Education.
Can I use EWPATAS for my college/school?
Yes! Once completed, the project will be released under an open-source license, and as such will be free to use and modify. Additionally, EWPATAS is designed to be extensible enough to adapt and handle a variety of situations, with some modifications.
When will it be released?
Tentative deployment will occur in Summer 2001, with full deployment throughout the NOCCCD planned for Fall 2001.
